Mental Health Recovery Specialist

Location: Berlin Vermont

Description: State of Vermont is in need of Mental Health Recovery Specialist right now, this occupation will be placed in Vermont. Specialized paraprofessional for DMH Treatment Facilities including engaging in the planning and delivery of care to persons experiencing primarily involuntary psychiatric hospitalization. Frequent interaction and communication is required with numerous clinical disciplines and outside health agencies including physicians, nurses, psychiatric technicians, therapeutic recovery services, social workers, families and friends of individuals receiving care. Work is performed under the general supervision of psychiatric nurses and specific supervision of unit clinical m! anager. Duties include therapeutic communication and support o! f patients, crisis communication, promoting least restrictive involuntary emergency interventions and de-escalating emergency situations when possible, role modeling recovery and resiliency based interactions; as well as personal ADL assistance, and facilitating groups. All employees of AHS perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strength based relationships and results orientation.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree in a human services field AND one (1) year or more working in a community-based, mental health program or inpatient psychiatric treatment setting.
OR
Bachelor's degree in a human services field AND two (2) years or more working in a community-based, mental health program or inpatient psychiatric treatment setting.
OR
Bachel! or's degree AND are a self-identified individual with lived experience, stable recovery for at least two years, and demonstrated peer support/advocacy work.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Overtime work may be required to maintain safe staffing levels and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime as required is considered an essential function of this job class.
