Location: Burlington, Vermont

Brown Ledge Camp, just outside Burlington, Vermont is seeking nurses two (RNs or NPs) to join our health center staff and complete the Health Center staff. Duties include but are not limited to: assessing and caring for campers’ health needs due to illness or injury; determining whether further medical attention is required at a doctor’s office or emergency room; dispensing and charting medications; supporting campers emotional needs; coordinating follow-up care with area physicians; and communicating with parents.

Nurses work as a team, helping each other and campers who visit the Health Center. The three-person nursing staff rotate duties on a regular basis; including being on-call for emergencies that develop at night. Ideally, our nurses live at camp, like the rest of our staff, enjoying the benefits of a lively community, lakeside living for the summer and full room and board. The camping season is eight weeks. Staff contracts range from nine to ten weeks. Nurses should be licensed in the US.

Since 1927 Brown Ledge Camp on Lake Champlain has given girls, 10 to 17, the ability to determine what they will do throughout each camp day without having to sign up for activities. Through this, campers become empowered and gain a variety of activity skills, as well as leadership skills. For 92 years BLC has had the atmosphere of a small college, relaxed with much accomplishment.
