Emergency Room Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner will provide complete care for all level 3, 4 and 5 patients and assist in the management of level 1 and 2 p! atients. Assist in the management of critically ill patients.a. Obtain and document a history focused on the chief compliant, appropriate past medical history, and physical exam.b. Order appropriate x-rays, laboratory tests, medications, and IV’s.c.
Develop discharge plans.d. Educate patients regarding their health problems and treatments.e. Coordinate care with the patient’s primary care physician.f. Function as a member of the Emergency Department health care team that includes: nurses, physicians, clerical workers, lab technicians, radiology technicians, and on-call physicians.
