Location: Newport Vermont

The Director assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care and all nursing activities for the ED. Maximizes resource utilization a! nd achieves organizational objectives through continuous improvement and process evaluation for cost effective care and quality clinical outcomes. Ensures compliance with established organizational, professional and accreditation standards and state/federal laws and regulations. This position allows for flexibility in determining priorities, programs, and procedures within the framework of the hospital mission, goals, and objectives. Maintains twenty-four hour accountability for all activities in unit.

Job Requirements:

• B.S.N., Masters preferred.
• Current Vermont RN license.
• Five years' recent hospital nursing experience with a minimum of two years as charge nurse or other supervisory experience.
• Specialty expertise in at least one clinical area of supervision, specialty certification preferred.
• Previous nurse manager experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• ACLS, TNCC, PALS (per depa! rtment requirements).
