Description: Castleton State College is in need of Full-time & Part-time Nursing Faculty Positions right now, this occupation will be placed in Vermont. Castleton State College Department of Nursing seeks to fill two full-time, tenure track faculty positions in the nursing program and several! part-time clinical positions beginning August, 2013.
Full-time responsibilities include: team teaching at the associate degree and /or the baccalaureate levels in the classroom and practice setting, using simulation pedagogy, student evaluation, advisement, mentoring, and attendance at departmental meetings. Faculty will participate in the on-going improvement of the nursing programs and are expected to embrace progressive teaching methods and technology in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings. Responsibilities also include service on department and college committees and professional development in accordance with Castleton State College requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Nursing is required with a preference for doctorally prepared applicants or those enrolled in doctoral programs. Applicants must possess or quality for an unencumbered VT RN license, have current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and cl! inical expertise in the area of instruction. Castleton has pla! ced a special value on the teaching roles of its faculty. Candidates for these positions will be evaluated principally on the basis of their potential to be outstanding teachers and colleagues. Successful candidates will be dynamic nurse-educators capable of working closely and effectively with students, staff, and faculty. Salary and rank is commensurate with degrees and experience according to a negotiated contract.
Part-Time Positions
These positions are well suited for nurses interested in the clinical faculty role who want to maintain their current practice roles. Commitments range from 6 to 15 hours weekly for the 2013-14 academic year. An MSN is preferred, but consideration will be given to individuals enrolled in a Master's of Nursing program. Positions are available in medical surgical, psychiatric, and maternal child nursing in VT, NH, and NY.
