North Country H! ospital is seeking an Emergency Department Director. The Director assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care and all nursing activities for the ED. Maximizes resource utilization and achieves organizational objectives through continuous improvement and process evaluation for cost effective care and quality clinical outcomes. Ensures compliance with established organizational, professional and accreditation standards and state/federal laws and regulations. This position allows for flexibility in determining priorities, programs, and procedures within the framework of the North Country Hospital mission, goals, and objectives. Maintains twenty-four hour accountability for all activities in unit.

Emergency Department Information:
16000 visits annually
23 FTE, including EMS transport RNs
Physician coverage 24 x 7
Annual budget of $12M Revenue/$1.8M Expense
Patient satisfaction >95th percentile for 4 years
Ave! rage door-to-doc time < 20 minutes
Average time in ED &! lt; 2 hours
High staff satisfaction scores
Staff nurse directed education and competency program
100% RN staff ACLS, TNCC, ENPC/PALS certified
5 RN SANE examiners

Job Requirements:
B.S.N., Masters preferred
Current Vermont RN license
Five years' recent hospital nursing experience with a minimum of two years as charge nurse or other supervisory experience.
Specialty expertise in at least one clinical area of supervision, specialty certification preferred
Previous nurse manager experience preferred
Current Basic Life Support
ACLS, TNCC, PALS (per department requirements)
